ABOUT ME

My Name is Ted Huggins. I am a 26 year old British male Voiceover Artist and Audio Producer, born in south England but have travelled to many corners of the British Iles, including Buckinghamshire, Devon, Cornwall, Dorset, Shropshire, the Midlands, Yorkshire, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness, Ullapool and now currently reside along the south west coast of Scotland for the last 10 years.

Ever since I could remember, I have always found great joy and satisfaction from the art of creating something, whether that be smiting a knife from old steel, building new worlds with the magic of audio, or creating brand new fictional characters with the power of the Voice. And it's the last two that have become my strongest passions today. 

 

It was my first 3 years studying Sound Production and Engineering at college where I discovered I wanted to work with audio. Where I learnt skills such as recording bands, live sound, producing and mixing and mastering music and sound deigning for games and films. Then after college, went to University to study Music Technology. Finishing with an Honours Degree from UWS Paisley. And have been working with audio in many shapes and forms ever since.

However, as I already mentioned, I have another passion that goes even further back into my childhood, Voiceover. That's right, as well as a background in audio engineering, I have also had experience acting in theatre productions from back in the mid-2000s. And it was around there while acting in theatre that I discovered I was infatuated with the idea of creating illusion. Growing up watching my favourite cartoons and movies as a kid, I realised that I could create something and bring something to life using just my voice. Even to this day, I am always doing impressions and speaking some line or quote from a movie/TV character I really like. So naturally, I drove my family insane! Just kidding. They always loved it!

 

Fast forward to 2018, I took my very first Voice Acting class with one of Scotland's most recognisable Voice Talents called Donald Pirie, which was a major eye opening experience in my life. After that class, I thought to myself, "why not combine the two things that bring me the most joy in life"?

So I took my first steps into the world and Voice Over and have been working on a career in both Audio and Voice ever since, now currently with a combined 9 years of experience between both Audio Producing and Voice Acting.
